Please go to the fan page (click on the link at top right) to see the entry for The Stepfamily Diaries; the child going into a new stepfamily has a very different perspective from the parent!
This stepfamily has a happy ending, as everyone adjusted well and gets along fine (but it took years for that to happen!). The mom thought that she had done her best to listen and take into account her son’s needs, but the new marriage felt like an intrusion into his life, and he thought it happened too quickly, even though the engagement lasted eight months.
The children obviously need things to be explained more clearly, with more repetition, allowing them to ask questions and express their feelings as the changes in their lives come about.

Beautiful! Sometimes we tend to think parents will have the answers to the problems in a stepfamily. The kids have their say, as well. And it takes an open heart to hear each other out. And indeed, the process is lifelong. That is why experts like to call it blending families instead of blended families.
So happy to have found you. I blog about my blended family, crazy life and stationery obsession. I have stories for YOU!!!! Mostly positive and always comical! I can’t wait to read more….
Andrea- I’d be delighted to get an entry for The Stepfamily Diaries, and would love to see your blog too (the name?) – please submit a photo or video to diaries@stepmomsos.com, I’ll set up a time to interview you if you’d like..
